Massive demonstration in Stuttgart in solidarity with Rojava

Also in Stuttgart a huge demonstration took place on the global resistance day for Rojava.

Today a demonstration was held in the German city of Stuttgart as part of the worldwide campaign #RiseUp4Rojava. About 12,000 people protested against the Turkish war of invasion and expressed their support for the progressive project in Rojava.

The demonstration was promoted by Kurdish youth together with internationalist groups under the motto "NeHêle - Don't let it happen".

Through banners, posters and loud slogans, the participants of the demonstration made it clear that they would not accept the Turkish war of invasion and the German support for Erdoğan.

The importance of the Rojava project for the people of Germany was emphasized in various speeches which pointed out that all population groups and especially women are equally involved in social life and in self-administration structures. The participation of the German government and German arms companies in the Turkish war of invasion was also particularly emphasised.

Tobias Pflüger of the German Left Party DIE LINKE criticized in a speech the unbroken good relations between the Federal Government and the Erdoğan regime. Asya Abdullah of the women's umbrella organisation Kongreya Star addressed the crowd from Rojava and referred to the worldwide solidarity: "As back then in Kobanê, people do not leave us alone today".
