Memorial for martyrs Navdar and Sıla in Berlin

Martyr guerrillas Navdar Serhat and Sıla Hejar were commemorated in Berlin.

The guerrillas Navdar Serhat (Davut Özsular, who fell martyr on 12 April 2018) and Sıla Hejar (Cemile Uçar, who fell martyr on 24 April 2018), fell martyrs during the Resistance of the Age. They were commemorated in Berlin with an emotional ceremony on the second anniversary of their death.

The memorial was organized by the Berlin Martyrs Families Commission at Navenda Civak Kurdistantan Azad Association.

The family of Martyr Navdar Serhat also attended the event.

Kurdish politician Zozan Serhat, who made the opening speech, said: "Our martyrs did not accept this state of things, they set out with the goal of achieving a free country and world. They saw how this world order has decayed and cannot respond to humanity."

Ibrahim Özsular, the father of Martyr Serhat, said: "Navdar was our child, but everybody's martyr. We are proud of him all together. After my son left, his sister followed him. He had studied university, had his own work and his family. Despite this, he left his 5-year-old daughter saying 'Dad, when I saw the bombs on my people in Kobanê I just can't continue to live in Europe' and he went."

Ibrahim Özsular added: "These young people sacrificed their lives for our dignity and freedom. Our heads are up. Thousands of greetings to Reber Apo, which made us feel this honor and pride!"
