Members of the Joint Action Platform of Women's Movements and Organizations in North and East Syria announced the launch of a campaign against the attacks and oppression mainly directed against Alawites in Syria's coastal cities.
Representatives of political parties, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Cizîrê Canton and the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) made a press statement at the 12 March Martyrs Stadium in Qamishlo city center.
The statement read by Emîne Omer, a member of the Women's Coordination in North and East Syria, said, “The responsibility for the massacres in the coastal cities of Syria lies with the current regime, which has given place to mercenaries such as Abu Amsha and Abu Hatim al-Shakra, who have committed grave crimes against civilians.”
Condemning the massacres in the coastal areas, Emîne Omer announced the launch of a campaign especially for the women living in these areas.
The campaign, titled “Support for Syrian Women is the Foundation for Stopping the Massacres in the Coastal Cities”, will involve the following phases:
* An aid campaign will be launched for the victimized women in coastal cities.
*Signatures will be collected to make the voices of women heard internationally.
*Letters will be sent to international organizations to stop the violations and massacres against women in the coastal cities of Syria.
*Demonstrations will be organized to protest the massacres against women.
*Women's marches will be organized to support women in the coastal cities of Syria.
*Theater performances and poetry readings will be held to reflect the suffering of women in coastal cities.
