The Lilak Initiative’s photography exhibition on Rojava has opened in Freiburg.
The Lilak Initiative (Linke Internationale Lebensfrohe Alternative Kultur) founded by the Kurdistan Solidarity Committee (Kurdistan Solidaritätskomitee) in Freiburg, Germany opened one last show for the photography exhibit on life in Rojava titled “Frühling der Frauen - revolution der Frauen in Rojava” [Spring of Women - Revolution of Women in Rojaava] first exhibited in March.
The exhibit organized by the Nuda Women’s Assembly opened in the Freiburg Democratic Kurdish Society Center on Sunday. The exhibit opened after a breakfast event, and Nuda Women’s Assembly and Freiburg Jinên Ciwanên Azad representative gave speeches. The speeches pointed out that the main goal of the exhibition was to showcase how the communal life in Rojava applies to the everyday. The speakers underlined that the exhibition offered significant insight into the communes set up with the Rojava revolution.
Guests visited the exhibition and learned about the photographs after the speeches. There was a short concert in the event.
The organizers said the exhibit has been visited by 3000 people in various locations it opened during the last 5 months. Visitors exchanged information on Rojava during the exhibition.
The photographs can be seen in the Freiburg Democratic Kurdish Society Center until August 15.
