Second death from coronavirus in Turkey

The number of people infected with coronavirus has risen to 191 in Turkey.

Turkey’s Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced Wednesday night the second death from coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The minister said that the patient was a 61-year-old man and offered his condolences. He announced that 93 more people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 and have been taken under treatment. The number of those infected has thus risen to 191.

“The results of today’s tests manifest the fact that measures are vital. Let’s tackle the risk together,” he said.

The pandemic has killed 8,911 people since it first emerged in China last year and has in recent weeks become a fast-moving pandemic across 145 countries and territories.

After China, Italy and Iran are the most affected countries by the pandemic. 2,978 people have died in Italy so far and at least 1,135 people in Iran. The pandemic has killed 558 people in Spain and 264 in France.
