Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) deputy chair Ebru Yiğit, ESP PM members Birkan Polat and Hıdır Ali Kılıç, and Free Young Women's (ÖGK) Central Coordination member Sinem Çelebi, were taken into custody on the morning of 19 March as part of a police operation carried out in three cities within the scope of an Izmir-based investigation.
During the police interrogation, the four people who were asked about the 8 March and other press statements they participated in were also accused of the election activities they participated in during the general and local election campaigns. Secret witness statements were also asked in the file.
The four people were sent to prison by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on the allegation of "membership in an organization".
