20 people, including 10 lawyers, were taken into custody recently Urfa, Şırnak, Diyarbakır, Van and Batman in the scope of an  investigation by the Chief Public Prosecutor of Urfa.

The detainees who were accused of “aiding the Prison Committee of the PKK/KCK” included 7 lawyers from Urfa Bar Association, 2 from Diyarbakır Bar Association and 1 from Şırnak Bar Association.

Of the total 20 detainees, 17 were released on condition of judicial control after testifying at the prosecutor’s office.

Lawyer Sevda Çelik Özbingöl, Kurdish writer Halil Çay and İlyas Çayır were remanded in custody and sent to Urfa T Type Closed Prison.
