Muştaq Mahmud Kerim and his family, who came to the Mersin city in southern Turkey from Hewlêr (Erbil), were attacked by three people in Gözsüzce Sirtlan area of Bozyazı district, at noon on May 13.

Two members of the family were injured during the attack, one of them seriously. The injured Kurds were taken to Anamur State Hospital by ambulances. Kerim, who was seriously injured due to the blows he received, is reported to be in good condition.

The three fascists who attacked the family have been taken into custody. The "legal" procedure to be applied to the racists attackers is not yet known.

Several racist attacks in Turkey have gone with complete impunity. Turkish state officials have repeatedly encouraged racist attacks through their official statements.
