Turkish soldiers and policemen were injured in guerrilla attack in Pervari‏

Kurdish guerrillas laid an ambush on gendarmerie command, security directorate and police lodges in Pervari district of Siirt at around 21:30 pm on 16 July. It is reported that at least 2 squads, 4 police officers and 5 soldiers were heavily injured in the ambush.

While the state hospital in Siirt city centre is no longer accepting patients due to injured police and soldiers hospitalized with helicopters, no electricity is given to the town and telephone lines are not working. The locals reported that Turkish army set fire on the forest land around the town and more soldiers are deployed in the region.

The locals also stated that loss of the Turkish security forces is higher as have seen dead bodies of police officers.
