Youth take over the sit-in for Öcalan in Strasbourg

Young people took over the ongoing sit-in protest for the freedom of the Kurdish People's Leader in Strasbourg. Young people called for ‘Serhildan’ (Kurdish rebellion), saying "It is time to strike the final blow to power".

Young people took over on Monday the sit-in protest launched by KCDK-E (European Kurdish Democratic Society Congress) and TJK-E (Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe) to demand freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan on 12 October in Strasbourg, France. On October 28, internationalistss and Kurds living in Europe will also participate in the action.

The scene of the action taken over by Tevgera Ciwanen Şoreşger and TEKO-JIN activists was decorated with balloons with images of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Furthermore, various banners reading "Freedom for Öcalan" were opened in the field of action.

'THE TURKISH STATE IN A DEADLOCK’

The young people, who will be running the action until Friday, made a press release and stated that the isolation imposed on the Kurdish People's Leader is directly related to the war policies carried out against the Kurds. In the press text read in Kurdish and Turkish, it was pointed out that the colonialist and genocidal Turkish state is in a serious impasse and has chosen fascism as a way out of it.

The statement said that the plan to eradicate the Kurds has been put into effect, and the Turkish state aims to eliminate the Kurdish Freedom Movement by destroying the united struggle in four parts of Kurdistan and by making the Kurdish people go through genocide.

In the action, where Heftanin's resistance was frequently commended, it was stated that Erdogan's policy of genocide and extermination against the Kurds should not be evaluated separately from the Turkish state's century-old policy.

Remarking that "The fascist Turkish state aims to eliminate our movement and the struggle of our people," the statement pointed out that the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been aggravated within the framework of this purge and collapse plan.

It was also noted that Turkish state seeks submission of the Kurdish people through the isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan, and puts all the means of assimilation into use in Kurdistan.

'TIME TO STRIKE THE FINAL BLOW TO POWER'

“Turkey further institutionalizes fascism and advances upon our movement within the framework of special war policies. Following the launch of the KCK campaign, Turkey has launched political genocide operations in Northern Kurdistan and Turkey that play a central role in the campaign. Operations are carried out basing on case files from six years ago. What the Turkish state wants to do is to leave society without a leading force.”

Policies such as gangsterism and assimilation are carried out with the hand of the state, while abuse and rape become the official policy of the state, said the statement which further included the following;

"Moreover, the occupying Turkish state, trying to eliminate the struggle of the Kurdish people through the invasion in Southern Kurdistan, is heading towards guerrilla areas and thus seeks to destroy the areas of resistance.  Yet, the Turkish state could not get what it wanted in Heftanin and Xakurke and the war has reached a deep impasse. It is time to strike the final blow to the fascism that has come to a dead-end.

As Tevgera Ciwanen Şoreşger and TEKO-JIN, we will create a circle of fire around Leader Apo with the spirit of resistance of Heftanin and the slogan "Stop Isolation, Fascism, Occupation; Be Havre Serhildan". We call on all Kurdish and revolutionary youth living in Europe to mobilize on this basis. Each single young person from Kurdish should join this call for uninterrupted mobilization without any question marks in his mind, and take a position to actively defend his country, land, people and its leader against the colonialism of the Republic of Turkey. The youth should initiate uprisings without receiving instructions, explanations and expectations from anywhere. Every youth from Kurdistan should act confidently and believe in themselves.”

The statement ended with the slogans "Be Serok jiyan na be (No Life without the Leader)".
