Christians in Hasakah celebrated Christmas

What drew attention was the participation of clerics and personalities of the Islamic faith in Christian celebrations, which has become commonplace in North and Eastern Syria in the context of the Democratic Self-Administration in the region.

Hundreds of Christians gathered in the northern Syrian city of Hasakah on the occasion of Christmas, in an atmosphere of joy, pleasure and security thanks to the forces that protected the region from mercenaries.

With the bells of the Church of the Virgin in the Al-Kalasah neighborhood of Hasakah, hundreds of Christians arrived in the area to pray and perform religious rituals on this day.

They prayed by reading religious hymns from the Holy Bible, while decorating the church with the Christmas tree and lighting candles.

In turn, the priest of the church spoke briefly before the audience, explaining the importance of this day and why it is celebrated.

What drew attention was the participation of clerics and personalities of the Islamic faith in Christian celebrations, which has become commonplace in North and Eastern Syria in the context of the Democratic Self-Administration in the region.

After leaving the church, the residents exchanged congratulations on the coming of holiday, hoping that peace would prevail in Syria in general and that the New Year would be a good omen for the Syrian people to defeat terrorism and establish stability.

It is noteworthy that many of the Christian villages located on the banks of the Khabour River in the countryside of the city of Hasakah, were exposed in 2015 to destruction by mercenary attacks on the region, leaving almost all of them empty of residence. Erdogan is now trying to reinstate mercenary acts by threatening to attack the people of North and Eastern Syria.
