12 more coronavirus cases registered in Syria

255 people were infected and 8 people died of coronavirus in Syria, while 102 have recovered in total.

Syrian Health Ministry said on Friday evening that a patient who had passed away after going to a hospital with a respiratory problem turned out to have been infected with the Coronavirus, raising the total number of deaths caused by the virus in Syria to 8, and the total number of cases to 255.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Ministry said in a statement that the patient had went to a hospital complaining from a respiratory problem and received treatment but he passed away, and one day later the results of tests on a swab taken from him came back positive for COVID-19.

The statement said that health teams have already taken steps to identify the people who interacted with the deceased patient and test them.

The Ministry also said that 6 patients who had been diagnosed with the Coronavirus have recovered, raising the total of recoveries to 102.

Earlier in the day, the Ministry said that 12 new Coronavirus cases had been registered.
