People in North-East Syria have been taking to the streets to protest the occupation forces and their crimes against women.
Protests against the crimes of the Turkish army and allied mercenaries in occupied regions of North-East Syria continue. Thousands of people who were displaced from occupied Afrin and settled in Shehba region, staged a demonstration in protest at the crimes perpetrated by the occupation forces.
Masses from all the villages of Shehba and Afrin’s Sherawa district marched from the Avrin Hospital to the Berxwedan Camp in the Fafin district. They displayed banners which read “No to demographic change”, “Where is justice?” and “Hear the screams of Afrin’s women” as they chanted slogans condemning the invaders and their inhuman acts that target women in the first place.
The march was concluded with a rally at the Berxwedan Camp where Afrin Executive Council co-president Şiraz Hemo addressed the crowd. Hemo condemned the crimes against women and said; “These crimes will never break the will of women who have led the revolution of Rojava.”
Speaking after, Kongreya Star Afrin Canton Board Member Newroz Haşim condemned the silence of the international community which -she said- encouraged the continuation of crimes committed in the occupied territories.
