Cihan Xelîl: The people of North and East Syria are ready to defend their land

Democratic Autonomous Administration executive, Cihan Xelîl, said that the peoples of North and East Syria actively participated in the state of emergency, having it clear that "they will defend their land".

Democratic Autonomous Administration executive, Cihan Xelîl, spoke to ANF about the state of emergency declared in Rojava and the attitude of the people.

Drawing attention to the threats and preparations for attacks made by the Turkish state, Xelîl said: "Til Rifat, Manbij and Kobanê are being targeted. We take invasion threats seriously. The Turkish government continues its diplomatic tours in preparation for the attack. In the meeting held in Tehran on 19 July, Turkey continued to seek support."

Noting that the state of emergency in North and East Syria was declared considering all these, Xelîl said that the Turkish state is already in a very hard condition because of the current invasion and, despite this, it threatens new occupations.

Xelîl said: “The SDF, YPG and YPJ are taking their military measures. Necessary preparations are made also by the people. The Autonomous Administration stopped many projects planned for 2022 and went into war mode. We focused on measures such as securing medicines, supplies, war infrastructure, etc. And this is also why we felt it necessary to declare a state of emergency."

Saying that the public's sensitivity increased after the declaration of the state of emergency, Xelîl continued: "No matter where the people are, we will take the necessary measures to defend our people. The people say, 'We will fight together with the military forces. The people are preparing their shelters and supplies. Being aware of the seriousness of the situation, they continued all their preparations. We will achieve our goal with the strength and determination of the people."
