Displaced people from Rojava return from South Kurdistan

Thousands of people have fled from the Turkish invasion troops from Northern Syria to South Kurdistan last year. So far about 5,000 people have returned to Rojava. Today another group returned via the Sêmalka border crossing.

The Turkish invasion of northern and eastern Syria has displaced around 300,000 people from their homes. Thousands fled to South Kurdistan last year. Now many of them are returning.

Today, 50 people who were accommodated in the Berdereş reception camp in South Kurdistan have returned to Rojava via the Sêmalka border crossing.

According to Baz Ehmed, who is in charge on the Syrian side of the border in Sêmalka, about 5,000 people from South Kurdistan have returned to Rojava so far.
