Education in mother tongue begins in Nêrebî village of Shehba

The Nêrebî village was liberated from ISIS gangs in 2016, and education started again after being on hold during the gangs’ invasion. Children of Nêrebîli now receive education in their mother tongue.

After Shehba’s Nêrebî village was liberated from gangs in 2016, the Democratic Society Education Committee opened a new school named Martyr Baran School there. In the newly founded school, children receive education in their mother tongue now.

Mihemed Ebdulqadir from the school’s administration said the school was opened 20 days ago and they have 120 students: “We opened the school after sweeping for landmines in and around the building. Our student count increases every day, but we are missing some education cadres.”

All schools in the Shehba region will begin the new term on June 3.
