Five members of the Turkish police special unit PÖH have been killed in retaliatory actions by the Afrin Liberation Forces (Hêzên Rizgariya Efrînê, HRE) in northern Syria. The resistance group, founded in 2018 after the occupation of Afrin, announced the details of their latest actions on Sunday.
"Our retaliatory actions against the attacks of the Turkish state and its mercenaries on our territories continue. On 1 and 4 October, actions took place in al-Bab, Mare and Sherawa. In an action on 1 October against a base of the Turkish occupation forces in al-Bab, five PÖH members were killed, and many others were injured. In addition, an armoured vehicle was damaged. On 4 October, a mercenary was injured in a sniper action in Mare. In Sherawa, Afrin, a mercenary was killed in an action carried out on the same day."
