Jazira Region Executive Council announces plans for 2023

The Jazira Region Executive Council completed its annual meeting and underlined that it will continue its work and activities according to the extraordinary situation.

The Jazira Region Executive Council held its annual meeting in Amude. The meeting was attended by the Legislative Assembly, the Hesekê and Qamişlo cantons assemblies, the representatives and members of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration. The meeting discussed activities in 2022 and the planning for 2023.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the rapprochement and meetings between the Turkish state and the Damascus government. Participants noted that Erdogan wants to win over the Turkish people before the elections in order to restore relations with neighbouring countries.

The deputy chair of the Regional Executive Council, Ahîn Siwêd, evaluated the organizational status of all regional assemblies and administrations and said: “In 2022, the Executive Council implemented all projects and programs with its assembly and offices. Administrative changes were made in the assemblies, committees and cantonal organizations to respond to the state of emergency situation. In general, the administrative institutions have carried out their activities at a high level and according to the available opportunities.

The difficulties and obstacles were also discussed and the planning for 2023 was announced as follows:

1- One of the main activities of the administration is to solve the water problem of Hesekê and all its districts with the project of transporting water from villages of Amûdê to Hesekê.

2- Providing agricultural needs and supporting agriculture by developing alternative energy projects.

3- Meeting all the needs of health institutions, putting the hospital departments into operation and continuing the Hîmo Hospital project in Qamişlo.

4- Meeting the needs of educational institutions, securing school renovations and raising the level of teachers through training.

5- Re-activating Commune organizations and committees.

6- Meeting the health services and needs of the families of the martyrs and opening academies for their children.

7- Increasing observation and fulfilling the complaints of the people.

8- Executing the works according to the extraordinary situation.

9- Securing a timely execution of all projects planned in 2023.
