Kyrgyzstan repatriates several ISIS-linked families from Northern and Eastern Syria

According to the Communication Department of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, a delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic visited the Autonomous Administration to repatriate 8 women and 14 children of ISIS-linked families. All the family members a are Kyrgyz nationals.
The delegation, led by Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Representative Bakit Kadyrov, was welcomed by Foreign Relations Department co-chair Fener El Giêt, Department co-chair Gulîstan Elî and Foreign Relations Executive Department Council member Xalid Îbrahîm.
The situation in Syria and the North East region as well as political developments were discussed during the meeting.
Fener El Giêt, from the Democratic Autonomous Administration, rejected the negotiation over the Syrian people and said that they were against the re-establishment of Ankara-Damascus relations if the Turkish army does not withdraw from Syrian territory.
El Giêt drew attention to the attacks carried out by the Turkish state against the people of the region, which affected the peace of the region and the fight against ISIS.
Bakit Kadyrov thanked the Democratic Autonomous Administration and SDF for providing security in the region.
According to RIC (Rojava Information Centre), the total number of foreigners (excluding Iraqis) repatriated in 2024 has reached 255, with Kyrgyzstan now ranking third in repatriating third-country foreign ISIS-linked family members.
