March 9 declared public holiday in North and East Syria
The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria declared March 9 as a public holiday on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8.
The Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES) issued a circular of high symbolic value on the occasion of International Women's Day.
"On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, all official institutions and offices of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria will be on holiday on Saturday (9/3/2024). Only those offices that are obliged to continue their work will be open,” read the circular released on Wednesday.
