Sebrî Mistefa, deputy co-chair of the Autonomous Administration of the Girê Spî Canton, evaluated the threats of the Turkish state to ANF. He said that they will not accept the occupation in any way.
Stating that the Turkish state has an invading and expansionist mentality, Mistefa noted that the Turkish state is the biggest driver of the situation in which the Syrian war started.
Turkey has supported ISIS in many ways
Mistefa said: "Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, Turkey has played a negative role and given all kinds of support to the mercenaries. ISIS enjoyed open borders and were provided weapons and ammunition, as well as trade and logistic help."
Afrin
Mistefa stated that after liberating Girê Spî from ISIS (on 15 Junel 2015 the YPG/YPJ liberated the city) they established a democratic system based on the brotherhood of the peoples in the region and said that the Turkish state saw this as a threat to itself.
Mistefa said: "The Turkish state has then occupied places such as Jarablus, Bab, Ezaz, Afrin and Idlib and change the region's demography. The example of Afrin is the most obvious one. The situation in Afrin is under the eyes of the world."
The Turkish state has only war in mind
Mistefa continued: "We see that the Turkish state has one thing in mind, to occupy territories from Aleppo to Shengal, to Kirkuk and Mosul. They want to occupy the region."
Yet Turkey, said Mistefe is "experiencing a great crisis both inside and outside. Economically and politically Turkey is in a deadlock and unfortunately it considers war the only solution to its problems."
People do not want more war
Mistefa, the people of the region is taking the Turkish threats seriously and above all they do not want to deteriorate the peace environment they have created after the liberation from ISIS.
Mistefa said that there is a need for the International Coalition to clarify its attitude about Turkey's threats and added that to remain in silent is not an option, because an attack by Turkey will help ISIS to regain strength again.
"We have fought together with the International anti-ISIS Coalition, we ended the military presence of ISIS. But now the Turkish state is issuing new threats. We understand everybody has its own interests, but the common interests should also be taken into account."
Our last word is resistance
Deputy co-chair of the Autonomous Administration of Girê Spî Canton said they are ready to do whatever it takes to defend the achievements of the people. "The people of Girê Spî will resist. Our last word is resistance."
