Mother and Commander of her son

Sara Mihemed and her son joined the Rojava revolution together and are now with the security forces in Ain Issa.

Whole families participate in the revolution of Rojava. Sara Mihemed joined the defense forces together with her son and is now both his mother and his commander. While practicing Asayish (public security) in Ain Issa, they ensure the safety of the city shoulder to shoulder.

"We protect the city and our country from the occupying forces. Mothers, fathers, sons and daughters take part in our revolution together. We do not want the jihadist gangs to invade our land. That's why I and my son took on the task of protecting our country. For that, everyone must stick together and participate in the ranks of resistance," says Sara.

She is glad that her son is also present: "My son joined the association of his own accord and free will. Normally this is difficult for a mother, but I am happy and proud of my son. We mount resistance shoulder to shoulder and want to provide a service to the people. In the revolution of Rojava women and men, young and old count equally. We have no choice but to defend ourselves against the Turkish attacks. They want to drive us from our land. We must defend ourselves."

Sara's son Mihyedin Ehmed Saleh agrees with her: "We are both with the Asayish in Ain Issa and we are working to protect the people from the attacks of the Turkish state. Our job is to control the access to the city."
