Hesekê Canton Council, with the support of the Cizre Region Social Service Committee, set up a new migrant camp in Xezil, east of the city.
People from Serêkaniyê who were forced to leave their houses by the Turkish state and had settled in 80 schools in Hesekê, have been placed in the new camp.
Welîda Botî and Hisên Elî, co-chairs of the Cizre Region Social Service Committee, Gulistan Oso, co-chair of the Cizre Region Immigration Affairs Bureau, and Serêkaniyê Camp Management co-chairs Zemzem Hisên and Salih Himêdî attended the press conference held in the camp.
Speaking there, Hisên Eli said that 620 tents were set up in this first phase for 620 families living in schools in Hesekê.
Hisên Eli added that the infrastructure of the camp has been completed and that they will increase the camp capacity up to 2,660 tents.
