People of Afrin and Shehba cantons have reelected the representatives of Democratic Autonomous Administration. The meeting held in the Serdem Camp in Shehba was attended by thousands of people in addition to Arab and Kurdish opinion leaders, representatives of political parties and Shehba and Afrin Democratic Autonomous Administrations.

A minute’s silence for the fallen was followed by the speech of Northern Syria Democratic Federal Constituent Assembly Co-chair Hediye Yusif. She said the decision to elect new representatives was made following discussions with the Conference to Liberate Afrin and Shehba administration. She noted that all the residents will have the right to equal representation.

Yusif said administrators and members of the executive and legislative assemblies would be elected, remarking that those to be elected would be persons who can struggle with an awareness of democratic nation and take public service as the biggest responsibility.

After speeches, applications for candidateship for Afrin and Shehba administrations were accepted. 200 people joined the election which began after an introduction of the candidates.
