Hundreds of people took to the streets in Hesekê Canton to call on the ENKS "Our language is our existence, don’t destroy our existence".
Demonstrations and activities are being organised throughout North East Syria to protest the ENKS (Kurdish National Council in Syria) which said that Kurdish education system should be annulled and it should be returned to the regime system.
A march was organized in the city of Hesekê by the Hesekê Schools Administration. Hundreds of people and students joined the march on Sunday. The crowd, carrying TEV-DEM flags, unfurled banners about the mother tongue.
Hesekê Schools Administration read a statement at the rally in front of the Municipalities and Environment Committee. The statement was read in both Arabic and Kurdish by Mihemed El Ehmed and Iva Ebdulkerim Mihemed. In the statement, it was emphasized that language is the symbol of humanity's commitment to its culture.
The statement pointed out that the peoples were deprived of the right to education in their mother tongue due to the invasion attacks against North and East Syria and added that the people paid a great price for the right to education in their mother tongue.
The statement pointed out that the Autonomous Administration is an exemplary model for the world as multilingual education is concerned, and added that young people achieved great success with education in their mother tongue.

Til Temir Schools Administration also organized a march to protest ENKS's demand to abolish education in mother tongue. The crowd gathered in front of the Martyrs' Families Assembly and marched through the busy streets. A press statement was read by teacher Abdulrezaq El Kenhêr at the rally.
“Every people has their own identity, language and culture. – said the statement - We must protect our identity by protecting our language and culture. As teachers, we reject the practices of those who try to destroy our language. All peoples must unite against conspirators. As the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria, we must defend our culture, language and identity."
