The invading Turkish state's threats of invasion against Northern and Eastern Syria are accompanied by increasing attacks. Despite the heavy attacks against the regions of Kobanê, Manbij, Ain Issa and Shehba, where Damascus power and Russian forces are located, Russia's silence caused protests among residents.
The people of Girê Spî, who stayed in the Ain Issa and Girê Spî camps, protested against the Russian attitude by gathering in the city center of Ain Issa and marching to the Russian base. The demonstrators demanded that Russia get out of its post and take concrete steps against the Turkish state and its mercenaries.
Shaha Esaf, one of the Turkmen refugees in Girê Spî, said: “The Turkish state has occupied our lands, we have all been driven from our own homes and lands for years and forced to live in camps. Despite this, the Turkish state continues to attack us. Russia supposedly said that it would prevent attacks and prevent massacres by the Turkish state, but every day the Turkish state bombs and murders civilians. Russia does nothing. In fact, Turkey attacks and Russia is just watching. Many times the places right next to the Russian bases are hit, but they just stand and watch. Then, why is Russia on our land?”
Emira Rifet from Ain Issa said: "If Russia keeps silent about all kinds of attacks against us, then its presence here has no meaning."
