Jazira Democratic Autonomous Administration executive Mizgîn Ehmed and Rojava University professors and students gathered in Qamishlo to discuss the political developments in Syria.
Speaking at the meeting, Mizgîn Ehmed said that many states entered the race on the territory of Syria and said that the war in Syria had been turned into a battle of interest and agreement.
After the meeting, a press conference was held by lecturers, students and university staff at the Rojava University garden.
The statement said that the Turkish state was preparing to attack Northern and Eastern Syria in violation of all international agreements and humanitarian principles.
The statement called on all people of the region to stand up against the threats and attacks of the Turkish state, and called on the world's public opinion to fulfill its humanitarian responsibilities.
The statement added: “The whole world saw the victories achieved by the political and military forces against DAESH terrorists in Northern and Eastern Syria. Thanks to these victories, the people of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration is experiencing significant improvements in the social and political areas. However, the occupying Turkish state is unable to accept these developments. Therefore, after the invasion of Afrin, it now makes threats against the Manbij and the East of the Euphrates, in other words, against the region of Jazira. Turkey is carrying out heavy military preparations on the border and violates all laws and morality of humanity.”
The statement added: “Rojava University lecturers, students and staff are concerned about the current situation. Let’s make no mistake: we are not afraid of the threats of Turkish occupation and, if necessary, we are ready to protect these lands which are blooming every day with the blood of thousands of heroes.
For this reason, our people, who have given their hearts to the free and democratic lands, are the voice of our voice; We call for all institutions connected to the Autonomous Administration to be the only voice. Close your eyes and ears to the invaders' lies and psychological warfare. Take your place in the ranks of consciousness, freedom and equality.”
The statement called “on the Syrian public to put forward their attitude towards Turkish state occupation. We all know that Erdogan's aim is to break the integrity of Syria and protect DAESH, thus disrupting the social unity and common life between the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria.”
Finally, the statement called on “all the free citizens of the world, from Australia to Canada, from China to Argentina, everyone who values freedom, to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Northern and Eastern Syria as they stood beside us in the fight against DAESH.”
