The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said in a written statement that its anti-terrorist units carried out an operation "in coordination with the international coalition forces in Deir ez-Zor, arresting 30 members belonging to ISIS sleeper cells."
The arrests, said the statement, were made as a result of "simultaneous raids targeting several hideouts in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, on Monday night after midnight."
The statement continued: "The anti-terrorist units had identified 21 separate targets in the villages of Ziban, al-Shuhail, Al-Zer and West Al-Basira, after receiving information from intelligence sources about movements of secret cells associated with ISIS in the villages."
The operation lasted 3 hours.
The SDF also seized a number of weapons and ammunition during the raids.
Among the seized weapons and ammunition were: 1 sniper gun, 3 kalashnikov rifles, 3 pistols, 5 magazines, sniper binoculars, 15 kalashnikov magazines, 3 cell phones.
