Ebcer Yaqûb said the Turkish state wants to destroy the co-existence of peoples in North and East Syria, stressing that they will be in joint resistance against possible attacks.
Syriac Military Council Official Spokesperson Ebcer Yaqûb spoke to Hawar News Agency (ANHA) on the Turkish state’s occupation threats against North and East Syria, and the Turkish military deployment on Rojava border.
Remarking that Turkey constitutes a great danger for the co-existence built by Arab, Syriac, Kurdish and Turkmen peoples in the region, Yaqûb said; “Turkey wants to invade the region and destroy this mosaic which was formed under the roof of the Democratic Autonomous Administration. The autonomous administration has secured the rights of all the peoples and faith groups in the region and ensured a secure environment.”
“Turkish aggression will help ISIS revive”
Pointing to the joint resistance of the peoples and faith groups in the region against ISIS mercenaries, Yaqûb continued; “The peoples of the region are now fighting against the cell structures of ISIS in order not to experience the massacres they have suffered before. Any attack or occupation threat by Turkey will cause the revival of ISIS.”
“We will mount joint resistance”
Stressing that Turkey wants to destroy the peace and security in the region, Yaqûb said that; “The Turkish state wants to annihilate the peoples that lead a peaceful co-existence. The Syriac Military Council that represents the Syriac community living in North and East Syria, has fought against ISIS alongside their Arab and Kurdish brothers and sisters. Turkey has ravaged the regions it has occupied. We will be resisting to make sure that this destruction does not expand to other regions.”
Yaqûb pointed out that the emancipation of the peoples living in North and East Syria is dependent on each other.
Mentioning the letter the Syriac Military Council has sent to the US administration regarding Turkey’s occupation threats, Yaqûb stated that; “Through that letter, we wanted to relay the effects of the Turkish state’s occupation threats on peoples. The letter emphasises that the fate of the peoples in the region is dependent on each other and that a possible attack against Kurds would affect the Arab and Syriac communities as well.”
