TEV-DEM Executive Council Member Aldar Xelil said steps for the Afrin issue and the return of displaced Kurds, the return of their property and the establishment of their safety is a must for the safe zone discussions.
Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) Executive Council Member Aldar Xelil spoke to the Ahval newspaper about the “safe zone” discussions and said: “The safe zone can be a maximum of 5 km length and this area cannot encompass residential centers under any conditions.”
Xelil stressed that the safe zone will not be handed over to the Turkish army: “It can be acceptable for the International Coalition to be on duty there, mostly in the desert areas, and Turkish soldiers can be part of that.”
Aldar Xelil continued to say that for the safe zone issue, it is a must to take steps for Afrin, return displaced Kurds to their homes, return their confiscated property and establish their safety there.
