Turkish armed drone strikes a village in Til Temir

The invading Turkish state continues its genocidal attacks against North-East Syria with the goal of depopulating and invading the entire region in violation of international law.

Local sources report that an unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) of the Turkish state struck the village of Uca in Til Temir (Tal Tamer) district on Monday.

While the attack resulted in material damage, details on the aftermath were not immediately available.

The attacks of the invading Turkish state and its mercenaries against North and East Syria continued unabated throughout 2022. According to data by the Cizîre Region Human Rights Association, 21 children were killed, and 57 others injured as a result of the Turkish attacks in 2022.

According to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) annual report of the violations by the Turkish occupation and ISIS mercenaries against north and eastern Syria for the year 2022, the Turkish army carried out 120 strikes during the year, including five suicide drone attacks.

THE STRATEGIC CITY OF TIL TEMIR

Til Temir holds a key position in Turkey's occupation plans because the M4 passes through the small town. The international traffic route is considered the lifeline of northern Syria, because it connects the Euphrates and Cizîrê regions with each other. Since the invasion of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî (Tal Abyad) by Turkey, in October 2019, more than thirty villages near Til Temir have already been occupied.

Attacks in the region occur almost daily, with phases of high intensity alternating with phases of low intensity. 27 villages in the Khabur valley are directly on the front line. Five of all Assyrian villages in the region have already been depopulated by Turkey's attacks. Scores of people have been killed in the attacks and dozens injured. The Syrian troops stationed in Til Temir and the Russian military are not fulfilling their function of complying with a de-escalation and ceasefire agreement agreed between Ankara, Moscow and Washington in the course of the 2019 war of aggression.
