Turkish troops open fire on Syrian soldiers in Ain Issa

Turkish troops targeted a vehicle manned by Syrian soldiers on the M4 road. Four people were injured in the incident.

Turkish troops opened fire on Syrian soldiers at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle was traveling on the embattled M4 highway in western Ain Issa when it came under heavy weapons fire. Four soldiers were injured in the attack, two of them seriously. The soldiers were taken to hospitals in Ain Issa and Raqqa.

Such attacks occur again and again, but are mostly ignored by the Syrian army. There are small contingents of Syrian troops in the region who, along with Russian troops, are supposed to monitor Turkey's compliance with the cease-fire. So far, these troops have approved or at least tolerated every Turkish attack.
