Turkish-linked mercenaries once again attacked Ain Issa again last night.
Last night, Turkey's jihadist mercenary troops attacked the area around Ain Issa in northern Syria again. Shells first hit the village of Mihelq and the M4 road. Then the occupying forces tried to advance further. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reacted and clashes erupted. No information was yet available about the course of the clashes.
Since 23 November 2020, not a day has passed without attacks against Ain Issa by Turkey. So far, the attacks, which are primarily aimed at displacing the population, have killed six civilians and injured at least 16 others.
With the approval of Russia and the Syrian regime, the Turkish government constantly breaks the ceasefire and repeatedly attacks the strategically important district of Ain Issa with artillery shells and ground troops. Since the international coalition has not yet opened the airspace, Turkey cannot use its air force and the ground attacks have so far been successfully foiled by the SDF. Russia and Damascus are trying to use Turkey as leverage to force Ain Issa to be handed over to the Syrian regime.
