The Martyr Herekol Book Fair continues in the Zana Hall in Qamishlo, organized by the Cizire Region Culture and Arts Committee with the motto, “A reading society is a progressing society”. YPJ Fighter Sozdar Qamislo gave a seminar titled “Self Defense and Women”. Sozdar Qamislo said self-defense is a reflex in all living beings that manifests at times of danger, and is a natural right.

Sozdar said self-defense is a natural reflex for peoples as states continue to target peoples with the understanding of one language, one religion, one identity and one flag. Sozdar continued: “Ocalan fought hard against the male mindset so women could achieve their freedom and be rid of the regressive elements in society. The Leader put great importance on women and cleared a path for them in the process of the struggle. Women have achieved great gains and taken part in all areas of life. But there are still individuals who carry the male mindset and make things harder for women.”

The book fair is to conclude tonight.
