The Turkish state and its proxies have continued their occupation attacks on Qereqozax and the Tishrin Dam since December 2024. Thanks to the resistance and sacrifices of the YPJ-YPG and SDF fighters, many attacks have been thwarted.
Women fighters on the resistance front are welcoming 8 March, International Working Women's Day, with enthusiasm. YPJ fighters Rojbîn Ereb and Ronahî Çiya are fighting in Qereqozax. They spoke to ANF about the meaning and importance of 8 March, International Working Women's Day.
YPJ fighter Rojbîn Ereb saluted all the women and said: “We have been resisting with our people and fighters since 2024, has thwarted the enemy’s attacks and invasion attempts. Although our region is subject to heavy bombardment by the Turkish state and its proxies every day, the people’s resistance has historical significance. We are welcoming 8 March at a time when such great resistance continues. I congratulate all women on 8 March. Today should be a day of freedom for every woman. I salute all my comrades and our people on the line of resistance on this special day.” YPJ fighter Ronahî Çiya is also fighting in Qereqozax. She said that despite the heavy attacks of the enemy forces, the resistance has never been broken. She said: "We believe in our ideology and our people. This war we are waging is a revolutionary people's war. The fact that our people are leading the resistance in the Tishrin Dam region is proof of this. As a result of the enemy's bombardments directly targeting civilians, dozens of people were killed and injured. Despite all this, our people continue to resist with great determination."
YPJ fighter Ronahî Çiya saluted all women and her comrades fighting for freedom on the fronts of resistance.
