Êzidîs of Afrin celebrate Çarşema Sor with promises of resistance

Êzidîs of Afrin celebrated the sacred Êzidî holiday Çarşema Sor with a press statement held in the Berxwedan Camp and promised for freedom and resistance.

Êzidîs in Afrin who migrated to the Shehba region following invasion attacks by the Turkish state and their allied Al Qaeda, ISIS and Al Nusra gangs celebrate Çarşema Sor. Êzidîs held a press statement in the Berxwedan Camp to celebrate Çarşema Sor and promised to liberate their lands.

Gulê Cefer read the press statement held with the lead of the Êzidî Association and said every year they used to celebrate Çarşema Sor in Afrin with great enthusiasm, but this year they are bittersweet in greeting the holiday due to the invasion by the Turkish state and their allied gangs.

Gulê Cafer said: “Every year we celebrated Çarşema Sor on our lands. Bu this year, we are bittersweet in our celebrations in Shehba we migrated to. Because we have been attacked and invaded by the Turkish state and their allied Islamist gangs. They tore down our sacred sites, looted our homes and pushed the Êzidîs to the route for migration once more.”

“They covered up all the colors of spring with a blackest of black cloth. They turned our holiday into a black mourning,” said Gulê Cafer and continued: “There is a great resistance against this invasion. We have full faith that we will be reunited with our sacred lands again through the bridge created by this resistance. The Turkish state and their allied gangs created this invasion with support from Russia and silence from the international public. We are used to these conspiracies. Because this isn’t the first international conspiracy against the Kurds. But these day too shall pass. We will void these plans with our resistance. We repeat our promise to the Êzidîs and all our people that we will kick the Turkish state and their allied gangs out of our lands.”

The statement was concluded with chants of "Bijî Berxwedana Efrînê" and "Bijî berxwedana serdemê".
