Video clip in memory of the guerrillas martyred at Girê Hekarî
Gerîla TV published a video clip in memory of the three guerrillas who fell in the Girê Hekarî Revolutionary Operation in Metîna on 26 November 2022.
On 26 November 2022, guerrillas carried out a revolutionary operation against Turkish troops at Girê Hekarî in the region of Metîna, in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq). During the revolutionary operation, the Turkish positions were overrun by guerrilla units and 42 Turkish soldiers were killed. Three guerrillas fell as martyrs during the operation.
Gerîla TV published a video clip paying tribute the three martyrs; Baran Çirav, Binevş Vejîn and Amed Avesta. The song ‘Şehîdên Hekarî’ by the group Gerîla Tîrêj Roj tells of the battle of the three fallen fighters.
In memory of the three martyrs, the guerrillas carried out the Şehîd Leyla Sorxwîn Amed Revolutionary Operation in Metina on 26 November 2023, in which 18 soldiers were killed and large quantities of military equipment were confiscated.
