Sorxwîn Çiya

Sorxwîn Çiya was born in Kars (Qers-Dîgor) in the Serhed region and grew up in an environment close to the PKK. She joined the guerrillas in 2007 and, after a short stay in the mountains of North Kurdistan, went to the Medya Defense Areas for basic training.

She was enthusiastic about the collective guerrilla life. As she said at the time, she saw the mountains as a "place of free life".

She studied the history of Kurdistan and of the freedom movement and dealt intensively with the women's liberation ideology. In the practice that followed, she became an ideologically and militarily experienced fighter of the YJA Star, known for her selflessness and her uncompromising stance against patriarchal thinking and behavior.

After the ISIS attack on Kurdistan, she fought on the front against the Islamists and gained war experience. She was involved in successful actions and returned to the mountains after completing her mission, where she took on responsibility in various areas until she fell as a martyr.

Ezda Faraşîn Cûdî

Ezda Faraşîn Cûdî was born in Silopi (Silopiya), in the province of Şirnak and grew up in an environment shaped by the Kurdish liberation movement.

As a child, she often heard stories about the courageous fights of the guerrillas in the mountains and dreamed of becoming a freedom fighter herself one day. She went to school for twelve years and, as an adolescent, began to fight against the state system of rule and the traditional role of women in society. When she learned more about Abdullah Öcalan's ideas on women's issues, she saw them as a solution to the conflicts she had experienced. A free life as a Kurd and as a woman seemed only possible in the mountains. In 2012, she joined the guerrillas and went to the Medya Defense Areas for her first training. When the Turkish state unilaterally broke off negotiations with Öcalan and the PKK on a peaceful solution to the Kurdish question in 2015 and attacked the guerrillas, she went to the war zone and took part in the defense with courage and sacrifice. From 2016 onward, she fought as a YJA Star militant in Metîna.

Ilyas Aydın Gül

Ilyas Aydın Gül was born in Agirî-Bazîd and grew up aware of his Kurdish identity. He learned about the freedom movement at an early age, and many people around him joined the struggle.

The oppression by the Turkish state was constantly present, and he only went to school for a short time. He took on various jobs to help support his family and became active in the Kurdish youth movement. Despite the repression, he was constantly involved in activities until he was arrested and spent two and a half years in prison. After his release, he joined a guerrilla group in Serhed in 2015. He received initial short training and took on practical tasks. He then went to the Medya Defense Areas for in-depth training before going to fight against ISIS and taking part in liberation offensives. His last area of deployment was Metîna.
