Raids took place in Amed (tr. Diyarbakir) and Dersim, and numerous opposition members were taken into custody in their homes at dawn on Wednesday. The police operation in Amed was directed against the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). Among those detained are former district mayors Necati Pirinççioğlu, Ramazan Kartalmış and Mervan Yıldız, HDP members Tarık Yazgan and Rıdavan Ezel, and five unnamed employees of the Ergani district administration.
