'National unity talks are in the interest of all peoples'
PYNK said that the efforts for national unity are in the interests of all peoples, their aim is to ensure the brotherhood of peoples and the building of a democratic Syria.
The Kurdish National Unity Parties (PYNK) issued a statement regarding the national unity meetings held with the ENKS (Kurdish National Council in Syria) on 16 June. The PYNK said that the national unity activities are in the interest of all the people in Syria. In its statement, the PYNK stressed that their aim is the construction of a democratic Syria.
The statement said: “On June 16, a series of talks took place between the PYNK and the ENKS based on the 2014 Duhok agreement. The agreement reached as a result of the talks was an important step on the road to the establishment of the national unity of the Kurdish people. Agreements reached in many fundamental issues have led to a common political framework. One of the main objectives of the national unity is the Kurds' constitutional rights when building a democratic Syria. While building the new Syria, the decision of the United Nations Security Council numbered 2254 should be taken as basis.”
The statement continued: “As PYNK, we are trying to make the voice of Kurds living in Syria a single voice. This effort is in the interest of all peoples living in North and East Syria. All the peoples living together in these lands should support these efforts.”
The statement continued: “The Kurdish people see the unity of the peoples as the solution of the Syrian crisis. The Kurdish people is also fighting for the establishment of a democratic Syria for all peoples. If the Kurdish, Arab and other peoples agree around the democratic nation perspective, the democratic nation project will become stronger.
For this reason, as PYNK, we have always supported the people's brotherhood projects. Works toward unity among Kurdish political circles also serve the brotherhood of the peoples. The success of the national unity is the success of our efforts for the brotherhood of the peoples.
All our efforts in Syria are to solve the Kurdish problem in Syria through democratic ways while protecting the territorial integrity of Syria. We struggled with the people of the region on all issues. We never supported those who saw the crisis in Syria as an opportunity. We worked continuously for the benefit of Syria. For these reason, Syrian peoples must always struggle for justice and brotherhood of the peoples.”
