CHP Deðer: we lean towards a CHP-BDP coalition

Before the visit of the CHP leader Kemal Kýlýçdaroðlu to Diyarbakir the vice chair of CHP Mesut Deðer spoke to ANF.

Deðer stated that the report on the Kurdish problem prepared by the CHP will be released in Diyarbakir by June 2011 by the leader Kemal Kýlýçdaroðlu. He also said that he is in favour of speaking to Öcalan for the solution. “We lean towards the CHP-BDP coalition” added vice chair of CHP Mesut Deðer.

Deðer further stated that Kurdish problem is among the priorities of their party. “Our leader has met the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and he also mentioned an amnesty for the region” said Deðer.

Kurds, radicals, conservatives should aim at the government under the same roof of CHP

“Our party offices in the region are leaning towards a CHP-BDP coalition in the elections. There are almost 64 leftist parties in Turkey including illegal parties and they should gather under the roof CHP and aim at being the government. CHP can welcome all the groups like Kurds and radicals with their own identities and gain power in the upcoming elections” said Deðer.

Deðer further stated that problem of power in Turkey can be exceeded by making a wide range of differences the government for which a unity and togetherness is necessary.

“The unity that I am talking about should be considered as electoral coalition. Theses groups can make their politics with their own programs under the roof of CHP. CHP should also give them the space for it. They should be able to nominate their candidates and express their opinions freely. The problems including the Kurdish problems should be discussed in the parliament and solved there.” added Deðer.

Regarding the critiques stating that Mesut Deðer will bring CHP to the line of PKK Deðer said they were talking about a project which will support the integrity of Turkey and will carry it to the future. “The Turkish-Kurdish brotherhood will give the opportunity of living together. Otherwise lack of the conditions to live together will lead greater problems.

Deðer also stated that the report on the Kurdish problem prepared by CHP will become public in Diyarbakir by June 2011, before the general elections.

Deðer further claimed that the Kurdish problem cannot be solved without CHP as it is a deep rooted party. He also suggested that CHP is the only party which can solve the headscarf and Kurdish problems.

Refraining to give the details of the Kurdish report Deðer said that identity is the honour of people and the report will consider this fact.

Criticising the policies reducing the Kurdish problem to a terror problem Deðer said it is not the solution just to say that the PKK will be disarmed. However, the problem should be handled with its political, cultural, sociological and economical aspects.

He also added that the Kurdish problem is the problem of 73 million people living in 81 provinces of Turkey.

Imrali can be taken into consideration if it will contribute the solution

Regarding the meetings realized with the imprisoned leader of the PKK Deðer said BDP considers that the only interlocutor for the resolution of the Kurdish problem is Imrali. In my opinion if Imrali cannot contribute the solution of the problem then it should be taken into consideration. “Imrali is also important for the disbarment of the PKK” added Deðer.

Supporting the BDP for speaking Kurdish in the parliament Deðer said everybody should express themselves and if the people elected representatives and sent them to the parliament then they should also be able to speak the language of the people who elected them.
