Demo by internationalists demands freedom for Öcalan and an end to Turkish attacks on Kurdistan

Internationalist activists took to the streets in Turin, Italy for the freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan and an end to the Turkish attacks on Kurdistan.

Internationalist youth activists took to the streets in Turin, Italy to demand the physical freedom of Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan and protest the fascist Turkish state's invasion attacks against Rojava and Shengal.

Activists unfurled a large TEV-DEM flag and banners. The silhouette of Abdullah Öcalan’s portrait was spray-painted on a wall, and the inscription ‘Libertà per Öcalan’ (Freedom for Öcalan) was pasted.

The march was interrupted in front of the central news building where young internationalist women spoke about the role of the media. The statement said that those who do not report the attacks of the Turkish and Israeli states have the blood of Kurdish and Palestinian rights on their hands.

The statement drew attention to the role of the Leonardo arms factory in Turin in these attacks, saying: “There is no solution for the oppressed peoples other than the freedom of Leader Öcalan. The first goal of the international youth is to break the isolation of Leader Apo and ensure his physical freedom.”

The protesters pasted leaflets on the walls exposing the partnership between Italian President Giorgia Meloni and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The protesters chanted ‘Bijî Serok Apo’ (Long Live Leader Öcalan), ‘Bijî PKK’ (Long Live the PKK), ‘Bijî Berxwedana Rojava’ Long Live the Rojava Resistance), ‘Jin Jiyan Azadî’ (Woman, Life, Freedom) and ‘Şehîd Namirin’ (Martyrs are immortal).
