Human Rights Association executive sentenced to 6 years in prison
Human Rights Association central executive member, Lawyer Raci Bilici, was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison.
Human Rights Association (IHD) central executive committee member, Lawyer Raci Bilici, appeared in court at Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court.
Bilici and his lawyers attended the hearing as well as many human rights defenders.
The prosecution requested that Bilici be sentenced to prison terms ranging from 7 and a half years to 15 years.
Following the defense statement, the Court sentenced Raci Bilici to 6 years and 3 months in prison on charges of "membership of an illegal organization".
