The Democratic Communities Congress of Kurdistan in Europe (KCDK-E) released a statement denouncing the measure taken by Polish police against Kurdish activists.
The European Kurdistan Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) released a statement responding to the Polish government after the police raided the homes and workplaces of 50 Kurdish activists using brutal methods. According to the KCDK-E, with this unprovoked raid, Poland, a European Union member state, has shown blatant disregard for its own laws, the European Convention on Human Rights, and international human rights conventions, and decided to act as a partner in the Turkish state’s dirty war and ongoing massacres throughout Kurdistan.
The statement by KCDK-E includes the following:
“On the morning of 4 October, the Polish police, working as a collaborative law enforcement agency of the Turkish AKP-MHP fascist regime, raided the homes and workplaces of 50 Kurdish activists using brutal methods similar to those of the Turkish state. Their explanation for these unwarranted raids were identical to those used by the Erdoğan regime to justify its ongoing persecution of Kurds in Kurdistan. Contrary to basic human rights, many of our people were treated as prisoners in their own homes for hours and some were subjected to inhumane pressures and humiliation when taken to the police station.
The fact that, in a country with a very small Turkish diaspora population, two policemen spoke Turkish during the operations, brings forward the possibility that these operations were carried out in cooperation with the Turkish state intelligence agency, the MIT. If these operations were carried out jointly with the elements of the Turkish state, this operation is even more outrageous and unacceptable. With this unprovoked raid, Poland, a European Union member state, has shown blatant disregard for its own laws, the European Convention on Human Rights, and international human rights conventions, and decided to act as a partner in the Turkish state’s dirty war and ongoing massacres throughout Kurdistan.
We do not understand why Poland has chosen to act in service of the fascist Turkish state and call on the Polish government to immediately cease cooperation with the Erdoğan regime. We call on the Polish government to abide by principles of democracy, its own laws, and universal human rights conventions. The fascist Turkish state is not a friend of any country or people, and its brutality has been demonstrated time and time again through its support of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organisation, its various campaigns of military aggression throughout the Middle East and beyond, and its brutal persecution of all dissenting voices within Turkey.
As KCDK-E, representing the Kurds in Europe, we condemn these actions by Poland against the Kurds. We call on the Polish government to end its inhumane cooperation with the AKP-MHP fascist Turkish regime and the dictator Erdoğan against the Kurds. We call on all defenders of human rights and democracy in Poland to voice their opposition to these actions and increase their solidarity with the Kurdish people.”
