Police operation targets lawyers, politicians and guardians

A large number of people were taken into custody following the political genocide operations carried out in Urfa, Amed, Şırnak and Van on Thursday.

A large number of people, including lawyers, mayors, guardians and politicians, have been taken into custody following raids carried out within the scope of the investigation ordered by the Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

As a result of the raids 10 lawyers, 1 co-mayor, 12 guards and many politicians were detained. Although the reason for the detentions was not disclosed, it was clear that the operation was directed at lawyers, clients and guardians. It was noted that 12 guardians who were taken into custody were working in Siverek T Type Prison.
According the information received 103 detention warrants have been issued.

Urfa: Lawyers Metin Özbadem (HDP council member), Emin Baran, Hidayet Enmek, Sevda Çelik Özbingöl, Cemo Tuysiz, Şeyhmus Inal, Hüseyin İzol, Sedat Çelik, former HDP executive, HDP Siverek council member Ibrahim Ayyıldız, Radio Karacadağ (closed by decree) employee Salih Erbekler, Halil Çay, Mizgin Çay Yavuz (mother of a 2 months old baby), Kemal Ak.

Amed: Lawyers Zeynep Işık and Özkan Avcı, Didar Çeşme, Mehmet Akdoğan, Zeynep Kıyar.

Şırnak: Cizre co-mayor Berivan Kutlu, lawyer Gürgün Kadırhan.

Van: Hakan Keles.
