YPG and FSA set up 'Joint Action Centre'

The YPG, the defence force of Rojava (West Kurdistan), the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and certain other armed opposition groups have established a joint Action Centre against ISIS in the Euphrates area.

The YPG, FSA and some other opposition groups issued a statement declaring the founding of a group called "Burkan Al Firat", the aim of which is to liberate areas under ISIS control.

The 'Action Centre' was proclaimed at a military ceremony in West Kurdistan and involves all active forces in the region. The join statement was read out by an FSA commander.

"Burkan Al Firat", set up to fight the gangs of "Al Baghdadi" (ISIS chief), includes the following forces: Liwa Al Tawhid (East branch), Liwa Al Siwar Al Raka, Shams Al Shamal brigades linked to the Fajir Al Huriye brigades, People's Defence Units (YPG), YPJ, Seraya Jarablus, Liwa Japhat Al-Akrad, Siwar Umunaa Al Raka, Al Kasas Army and Liwa Al Cihad Fi Sebilillah.

The statement listed the following articles:

1-All those who have been deceived into joining ISIS and all members should leave the organisation

2-The international community should fulfil its responsibilities against the terrorist ISIS  

3-All parties should offer material and moral support to the Joint Action Centre against ISIS

The statement emphasised that the aim of the action centre was to liberate all areas held by ISIS. The areas listed were: Karakozak, Serrin, Jarablus, Manbij and its villages and Rakka and its villages.
