Ammunition depot blast kills 4 in Aleppo countryside

Reports of casualties after explosions in Nubl and Homs.

An explosion has occurred in an ammunition depot in Nubl town of Aleppo on Friday.

The huge explosion left five buildings in the surrounding area destroyed, while at least four people died and 16 others wounded.

On the other hand, the Syrian news agency SANA reported successive explosions at a military position in the city of Homs. Citing a military source, SANA said investigations revealed that these explosions occurred due to human error during the transportation of some ammunition.

The military source stated that the explosions caused material and human losses due the shrapnel which scattered outside the military position.

Earlier, several explosions were heard in the south of the city of Homs where columns of smoke were seen rising from the site as shells fell in the vicinity of it, causing injuries to several civilians, SANA said.

Director of Homs Health Directorate Dr. Hassan Al-Jundi told SANA reporter that 10 injured persons had arrived to the public and private hospitals in the city due to the shells falling due to the explosion.
