The Euphrates Canton Education and Training Committee and the Human Rights Organization issued statements regarding the Turkish state's ever-increasing attacks on North-East Syrian regions.
The statement by the Education and Training Committee, read in Arabic and Kurdish, said: "The occupying Turkish state and its mercenaries have been conducting attacks on North and East Syria since January 8, 2024. These attacks have caused harm to the infrastructure, human resources and educational activities. The occupying Turkish army and mercenaries have specifically targeted schools, students, and teachers in their attacks.
This savage aggression has deprived thousands of students of education and also claimed the lives of countless students and teachers.
Over the past two months, education has been halted in many schools. The Girê Ibîre school in the center of Kobanê and the Elhuri school in the center of Ain Issa were directly targeted. The occupying Turkish state is systematically violating all human rights.
As the Euphrates Canton Education and Training Committee, we condemn the crimes committed by the Turkish state against schools, children and teachers. We call upon international organizations, human rights groups, UNICEF, guarantor states and the United Nations to halt these attacks and prevent these crimes."
The Human Rights Organization's statement against the invasion campaign against North-East Syria said: "On January 11, 2025, Turkish forces perpetrated a brutal massacre in Syria and killed many people. The occupying Turkish state's mercenaries do not limit their actions to massacres in the occupied regions. They have also looted the people's property and ruined the region's history and nature.
The occupying Turkish state wants to destroy the people's achievements in the region through these attacks. People who sought refuge in other areas of Rojava have also been victims of these actions. We condemn the occupying Turkish state."
