Hesen Mihemed, Co-Chair of the MSD Relations Office, emphasized the need for political parties to act in unity to build the future of Syria.
The Syrian Democratic Council (MSD or SDC) held an important dialogue session at its headquarters in Raqqa with the participation of MSD members of and representatives from the Future Syria Party, the Kurdistan Brotherhood Party, the Conservative Party, the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party, the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party and the Democratic Union Party (PYD).
Speaking at the meeting, Hesen Mihemed, Co-Chair of the MSD Relations Office, emphasized the importance of political parties playing an active role in the current process in Syria. Stating that a permanent and just solution must be found to end the violations against Syrians, Mihemed said that the violations of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) members against the Syrian people have reached a dangerous level.
Remarking that the groups under the HTS have revealed their true face, Mihemed warned that this situation threatens the future of the country. “If Syria remains under the control of the HTS, it will lead to great dangers. Syrian politicians must reject this. Most of the members of HTS are on international terrorism lists and faced with detention warrants,” he added.
Mihemed also warned that the disintegration of the former Syrian army and bringing the population under control could trigger a new civil war in the future due to the wrong policies of the HTS.
On the other hand, Mihemed spoke about the activities of the occupying Turkish state in Syria and stated that these interventions pose a serious threat to the future of Syria. He emphasized that political parties should establish a common ground in this process to build a democratic, pluralistic and just Syria.
Hesen Mihemed called on all political parties to organize a press conference to share their views and to work on building foundations for the future of the country.
