“My daughter chose the path of martyrdom and became a martyr of Kurdistan and of the peoples who demand freedom," said the father of a PKK guerrilla from Rojava.
Kurdish guerrilla fighters Argeş Koçer and Warşîn Agid were martyred on August 1 in a Turkish air raid on Mount Gabar in the province of Şırnak in Northern Kurdistan.
A memorial ceremony was organised by the Council of Martyrs’ Families in Tirbêspiyê in memory of Hacer Musa (Warşîn Agit) who came from Western Kurdistan (Rojava).
The ceremony, attended by Musa family and members of the Council of Martyrs’ Families, began with a minute’s silence, after which Reber Ose addressed the crowd in the name of the Council.
Offering their condolences to the Musa family, Ose said; “Warşin joined the guerrilla ranks after witnessing the enemy’s repression and atrocities against the peoples. She fell a martyr on this path.”
Speaking after, Warşin’s father Mahmut Musa said; “My daughter chose the path of martyrdom and became a martyr of Kurdistan and of the peoples who demand freedom. I promise that we will be following in the footsteps of martyrs until we gain a free and honorable life.”
The Council of Martyrs’ Families then read out Warşin’s certificate of martyrdom and handed it over to her family.
